Fresh Flowers and Rusty Birdcages

Spring is here! And that means it's time to bring out our old, rusty birdcages (or some of them, at least). I feel like this is the only time of year when we can display our weird obsession with fake birds and birdcages and not get judged. Am I right?

The picture above includes maybe 25% of our "collection."  The large birdcage was picked up by Pete in a salvage shop in town. You can see Alfred the junkerbird hanging out in the background, and two sweet porcelain lovebirds in the front that sat on top of our wedding cake.

We really did try to dye, paint, and transfer newspaper print to eggs last night. Instead, we just made a mess but we did have a few who survived. I think we'll be more successful next year when we have a little girl to dye eggs with us. :)

Have a great Easter weekend, everyone!
